A New York Times Bestselling Author

He was born to a clan of warriors of supernatural strength, but Gavrael McIllioch abandoned his name and his Highland castle to escape the dark fate of his ancestors. Calling himself Grimm to protect the people he cared for, he vowed never to acknowledge his love for Jillian St. Clair. Yet even from afar he watched over her, and when her father sent an urgent summons, "Come for Jillian," he raced to her side.

What Customers Say About To Tame A Highland Warrior:

WOW. Let me tell you about Phil Gigante.his voice is amazing. He is terrible at female voices but when you hear his Scots Brogue.

Moning does do a good job of bringing feminism and hurman rights into her perspective. The mythology and history pull you into the story and give it credence. The Highlander series by Moning is a new genre for me. I am loving it because it is the perfect launch pad for the time travel romances.

There is a beast within Grimm, a berserker, and he has spent years trying to control this beast. I opted to go with the audio format, but I might have to rethink this if I continue on with the Highlander series. TO TAME A HIGHLANDER is the second in Karen Marie Moning's Highlander series. I wasn't disappointed. I was able to overlook in the first book, but by the fourth, if you include the Fever series, it becomes irritating. There was more to him and book two revealed this. When Grimm gets a message to come for Jillian, the door to his past is opened. And I use the term "man" loosely.

Moning still has a habit of rehashing data. I liked Hawk's story better, but I liked book two's characters - Grimm and Jillian - more.

He was dark and handsome with a mysterious past. And in a way, I did and didn't.

When the first book, BEYOND THE HIGHLAND MIST, ended, I suspected book two would be a continuation of sorts with Grimm as the main character. It will be Jillian who brings him home to face his past and her love will tame the beast within Grimm. After the first book, I wasn't sure I'd like the second book better.

At least in word form, I can skim over those parts. In book one, it was hard not to fall in love with Grimm.

To do as the message says will endanger the very people he sought to protect for Grimm is a hunted man.

It's usually pretty well-done in the first part of the book, but starts to acquire grammatical errors and awkward phrases. This goes on for hundreds of pages. good.

There are also inconsistencies between the books, for example, Grimm shows no signs of Berserker talents in Beyond the Highland Mist, including in situations similar to triggers in this story. However, sometimes the writing is clever and literate - there are lots of ties to Beowulf in this one, and to Midsummer Night's Dream in BTHM, and the premises, within the highland time-travel romance genre, are original. Finally, the character development is poorly done - the characters have A TRAIT, which they act out over and over; for example, Grimm is AFRAID to show Jillian that he is a Berserker, in spite of scene after scene where she is ACCEPTING.

This series has gotten lots of positive reviews and I like the premise fine, but the books just aren't very. Secondly, there are huge, distracting anachronisms - this book had window glass in a early-16th century castle. I liked this one best, but, truthfully, I just wished I liked them better.

First of all, the writing is very inconsistent. It's pretty bad when you notice poor phrasing in the middle of a big romantic scene.

But would Grimm's fears prove unfounded. This was a better read than Beyond the Highland Mist (Highlander, Book 1) but only by a fraction. Could he really give up the woman who has plagued his dreams for what seemed like eternity. While I wasn't particularly impressed by the first book, I did find Grimm's character fascinating, thus I did look forward to reading more about him. Still, it has enough entertaining factors to laze the day away. Forced to call out to Odin at fourteen, he has since despised what he has become and fears revealing his true nature even to his friends. Legend tells a story of men with preternatural strength. It is said that these men were born with these extraordinary gifts, but it isn't until they reach that time of anguish and despair that Odin's gifts come to life giving birth to the powerful Berserker. Some revere them; while others fear them. But when a call came to him, it only took three words to send him running back to Caithness, and one name - Jillian.

She never realised his sacrifice, the pain it caused him to give her up out of fear for her life. I felt that the middle part was a tad slow and being reminded constantly of Grimm's fears bordered on tedious. Grimm is as honourable as he is fierce, and I liked the way he watched over Jillian and prove time and time again his devotion to her. Just don't expect too much. Witty, vivacious and unwavering in her resolve to break down the defensive wall that Grimm has carefully built around himself. The minx who captured his heart; the girl he could never have.It was astounding for them both when Grimm arrived at Caithness. Jillian is also quite a likeable heroine. Grimm Roderick is one who fears what he is.

TO TAME A HIGHLAND WARRIOR certainly surprised me, not anticipating the twist in his true identity. Jillian has always wondered what Grimm found wanting in her, how it seemed too easy for him to abandon her. It was for that reason that he turned his back on the clan that took him in after he ran away from home. Grimm was shocked to find the young girl he left behind has grown into an incredible woman, full of life and filled with so much anger for him.
